JIU JITSU PROGRAMS
WHY JIU JITSU?
Do you want to learn self-defence? Struggling to stay motivated with exercise? Looking to join a community of supportive, driven people? Learning Jiu Jitsu might be the best decision you make this year.
At Gerringong Jiu Jitsu Academy, every student starts for different reasons - fitness, focus, confidence, or just curiosity - but they all stay for one: because Jiu Jitsu makes life better.
That’s why we’ve designed programs to suit every age and stage:
A rotating six-week Introduction to BJJ course for beginners to build solid foundations
Grappling All Levels classes for those ready to sharpen their skills with games, drills, and situational sparring
Free Women’s Workshops every Saturday, creating a safe, empowering space to learn and connect
No matter where you begin, Jiu Jitsu will make you fitter, stronger, and more resilient - while giving you a team that’s got your back, on and off the mats.

NO GI
Grappling all levels
All levels are welcome to our No Gi classes, however we suggest those with less than 3 months experience attend the Introduction to BJJ Class. This session includes a mixture of skill development games, technical drilling and specific training/open sparring rounds.

OPEN MATS
What is an open mat?
Open mats are weekly sessions where you can choose how you’d like to train. You can workshop new techniques or concepts with a partner, you could problem solve with a coach, specific train certain positions or just have some friendly sparring rounds. Our open mats are a great way to get to know grapplers from the local community.
